Peter Miller
Peter Miller, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter, has had vast
performing experience, ranging from classical to country.
Previously the classical guitar instructor at James Madison
University, he initiated the Music Department’s Guitar
Program. Peter’s education includes music degrees from
Eastern Michigan University and James Madison University.
His country music roots, and fondest memories of family life,
go back to childhood and Saturday nights with his parents in
front of the giant floor radio with a bowl of popcorn listening to
the Grand Ole Opry. By the 1980’s Peter was producing
gospel and country music and performing traditional country
music with his own act The Country Bach Band. Doing
concerts with Reba, Greenwood, The Oakridge Boys, Exile,
etc. provided the opportunity to move to Nashville from Virginia
in 1987.
The Nashville years were spent developing three music
companies; Artifex Records, a smooth Jazz label, a music
publishing company, and a CD manufacturing company ,
Nashville Compact Disc Manufacturing, LLC. In 2005 he sold
all Nashville holdings and moved to Fall Creek Falls, TN where
he now lives with his wife Beth and two dogs, Archie and
Dougal.
After an eighteen year hiatus, Peter has resumed performing
and writing traditional country music. His first album in over
twenty years was released in January 2010 entitled “Country
Classic”.
